Senior Property Officer

About The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Property Officer to join a busy Property Services team. You will look after property and vehicle insurance claims from start to finish, ensuring repairs and restoration work are handled smoothly for our customers, who are often older or vulnerable individuals.

This will include:

• Manage Claims: Take ownership of home, contents, strata, and vehicle insurance claims, making sure property repairs and restorations happen quickly and efficiently.
• Support the Team: Provide daily guidance, advice, and mentoring to junior Property Officers, helping them navigate complex or tricky customer cases.
• Solve Issues: Step in to handle more complex insurance matters, review safety reports, and help resolve customer or stakeholder disputes with discretion and empathy.
• Coordinate Stakeholders: Keep everyone in the loop by regularly updating customers, families, insurers, contractors, and strata managers via phone and email.
• Improve Processes: Use internal databases and systems to manage the claims portfolio, and actively suggest ways to make the claim process smoother.

About the ideal candidate:

You will have worked in a similar role, and ideally have the following:

• Experience: A tertiary qualification or solid professional experience managing complex property insurance claims and reading contracts.
• Caseload Skills: A proven ability to manage a high volume of active files accurately, staying calm and organized under pressure.
• Communication: Confident verbal and written communication skills to deal with diverse customers, families, and third-party contractors.
• Empathy: A genuine understanding of how to support vulnerable people
• Quality Focused: A collaborative attitude and willingness to take part in internal quality assurance, including routine call and email reviews.
